According to the 2003 Wealth Transfer Report, nearly $40 trillion dollars will transfer from older to younger generations by 2050 in the United States alone.  However, the mechanisms dedicated to creating wealth far outpace those dedicated to giving it away.  Too few wealth-holders are becoming strategic donors.  How can we encourage greater generosity?  How can we inspire the young and wealthy?

In the past, women have successfully come together to demand their civil rights.  Across the world, young people are now doing the same.  Just as women’s groups mobilized women philanthropists, can young organizers also galvanize young wealth-holders?

With these trends in mind, young leaders, entrepreneurs and philanthropists are coming together in New York City from September 19 to 22, 2012 as follow up to the 2011 Summit.

Participants

The summit will host hundreds of participants from around the world.  They will include young wealth-holders, social entrepreneurs, philanthropists, movement leaders and more.

Interested participants can soon apply online via this website.  A selection process will ensure that only qualified people attended.  The cost of the event will be subsidized by private donors and no registration fee will be required at this time. Accepted participants will be admitted on a rolling basis.

Vision

The vision of the conference is a community of strong, capable young change-makers who are cognizant of the challenges and opportunities facing the world, and committed to good stewardship.

Goals

The goals of the event are to:

1)      Explore and advance the potential of next generation leadership across nations and sectors.

2)      Catalyze young global philanthropy and social investment.

3)      Bridge communities of wealth and social entrepreneurship through dialogue, collaborative problem solving and education.
